Meet The Team
CAMP DIRECTOR
MICHAEL KINGMAN
Michael Kingman is a current middle school math teacher at West Middle School in Traverse City, Michigan. He has been teaching math for the last 8 years, and before he moved to Traverse City, he worked for Orange County Public Schools in Central Florida. He loves sports and recreation; before teaching, he worked for the YMCA of Central Florida for 5 years leading aquatic programs and training a team of lifeguards and emergency responders.
He holds Michigan and Florida state teaching certifications in both Physical Education (K-12) and Mathematics (5-9). He is currently earning his Masters in Education through Central Michigan University and expects to graduate in December, 2024. He holds a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Central Florida in Sport and Exercise Science.
When Michael is not teaching, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his three young children.

Laura Kingman, Camp Licensee, who previously worked for The Walt Disney Company developing marketing campaigns, corporate partnerships, and curriculum for children's safety education worldwide. Laura also has experience managing a residential Girl Scout Camp, and as Visual Arts faculty at Interlochen Arts Camp.
