Let's Get to Know Pastor Rosanne Anderson

Here is a little bit more about our Pastoral Call Candidate, Pastor Rosanne Anderson.

Pastor Rosanne was born and raised in Cadillac, Michigan. She attended Marywood Academy in Grand Rapids, Michigan and graduated from Cadillac High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in Religious Studies and Psychology and minors in Piano, Voice and Organ performance from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Rosanne ministered as a Liturgist and Pastoral Associate in Roman Catholic congregations for 20 years prior to her Affirmation of Baptism in the Lutheran Church.


Pastor Rosanne received her Master of Divinity degree from Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio in 1995. She completed her pastoral internship year at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in New York City. She was then assigned to the Southeast Michigan Synod of the ELCA and served Transfiguration Lutheran Church, Taylor and King of Kings Lutheran Church, Lake Orion. While in Southeast Michigan Pastor Rosanne was chair of the Synod Worship Committee for 10 years and was a member of the Michigan Multi-Synodical Candidacy Committee. She also served as Dean of the Downriver Cluster.


Pastor Rosanne transferred to the North/West Lower Michigan Synod in 2013 to serve as Pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, Lake City and Trinity Lutheran Church, Manton. During this time Pastor Rosanne remained on the Michigan Multi-Synodical Candidacy Committee and was chair of the Synod Response Team. She also shared leadership in presenting Boundary Training for the Mitten Synod. Pastor Rosanne was the Dean of the Traverse Conference.


In 2018 Pastor Rosanne was called as Assistant to the Bishop and Director of Candidacy in the NWLM Synod of the ELCA. Pr. Rosanne’s portfolio included Call Process, Candidacy, Racial Justice, Boundary Training and liaison to the Publicly Engaged Church Table and Youth Table of the NWLM Synod.


Pastor Rosanne retired from her position as Assistant to the Bishop in May of 2023 due to health issues. After some recovery time, she has served as the Administrative Interim Pastor at Advent Lutheran Church, Lake Ann, Michigan.

Pastor Rosanne enjoys reading, travel (especially cruises), board games, walking, movies and Words with Friends.
